TODAY’S GOSPEL

"I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ. - Mt 16:19-20

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES

When Jesus asked, “Who do people say I am?”  He got a variety of answers.  If that question was asked about us, how would people answer?  We juggle many roles to meet the many demands on our time.  It takes special effort not to neglect our family responsibilities as spouse, parent, son or daughter.  Who do people say you are?  Would you get the answer you want to hear?

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that anyone who desires to receive the Eucharist must be in the state of grace?  Anyone, who is aware of having sinned mortally must not receive Communion, but must first receive absolution in the sacrament of penance.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

We ask for God’s blessings on William and Laverne Hunady as they celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the 10:30 Mass this weekend.  Congratulations to the both of you.

Registration for the Catholic Faith Formation program will be on Monday, August 25, at St. Stanislaus School from 6:30 until 7:30.

SECOND COLLECTION

Next weekend our second collection will be for the Church in Poland.  We ask you to please be as generous as possible.  Thank you for your support of this collection in the past.

CHOIR BEGINS

Come and sing with the Nativity BVM choir this season!  Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, September 3, with Bell Choir at 7:00 p.m. and Choir at 7:30 p.m.  We always look forward to welcoming new members and catching up with old friends.  Join the choir and help make our parish an even more vibrant place to worship.

COMMUNICATIONS

“For the Record” Recent Plain Dealer, Morning Journal and Chronicle Telegram stories on parish clustering were irresponsible and incomplete.  If you have read or seen a news story about the Church, your parish, the Diocese or matters of the Catholic Faith and want to be sure you know the complete story.  Check “For the Record” on the Diocese of Cleveland website at www.dioceseofcleveland.org.  You might be surprised what you will learn when all the information is available.

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

The Polish Heritage Committee will be selling the 110th Anniversary Christmas ornament after all the Masses this weekend.  The 2006 and 2007 ornaments will also be available.
